On the examples of relief forms and caves in the Dinaric karst and in the Southern Alps (Slovenia) different influences of neotectonics on surface forms and formation of underground flow systems are shown.

Structural units, localized by trusts and faults had divided morphological, speleological and hydrological systems in general although the connections between them still exist.

Special importance is played by active fault zones where older passages mostly colapsed and water younger syphon channels is forming. Direct speleological investigations give us precious knowledge as well as indirect geological, geomorphologieal and other methods.
